Diorissimo is a perfume that contains the spirit of Christian Dior's lucky flower. The history of this perfume dates back to the 1950s. The creator of the perfume, Edmond Roudnitska, decided to stop the trends of the time of creating too sweet perfumes. So in 1953 he modified his formulas and chose to opt for fresher and more transparent fragrances. Initially wanting to create a perfume of lily of the valley identical to that of his garden, he reached a satisfying fragrance only in 1955. Precisely on this historical date the two great men, Christian Dior and Edmond Roudnitska, met. Thanks to that meeting, a symbiosis of ideas took place that gave birth to a superlative perfume: Diorissimo. The perfume will be immortalized by an illustration by René Gruau: a woman from behind with a bouquet of lilies of the valley. Diorissimo contains the spirit of Christian Dior, the perfumed breath of his soul. The main structure of the perfume opens on the floral notes of Ylang Ylang, in the heart the freshness of the lily of the valley bells, slightly green, flanked by accents of lily and amaryllis. The base is an Egyptian jasmine absolute. Signed by Baccarat, the first bottle of the perfume was made of faceted crystal and the cap in the shape of a bouquet of flowers in gilt bronze. The shape seemed to be inspired by a Baroque chandelier exhibited in the main office of the Dior fashion house located in Avenue Montagne, in Paris.
